Frequently Asked Questions FAQs

Whether you’re interested in purchasing your very first gun or your thousandth, you probably have some questions for us. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions and general answers.

How do I puchase a firearm through ALX Arms?

If you’re within driving distance you’re always welcome to stop in the shop and buy it in person. Use the appointment link to confirm a time. If you have your eye on something specific, you can call or text to have us set it aside for you.

If you are in Oregon, we can ship firearms to an FFL of your choice, or you can use our friend Ryan Judy of Ryan Judy Sporting Goods for a low cost transfer fee. When purchasing through our site, just select your preferred FFL and you’ll pick it up when it arrives.

If you are in another state besides Oregon or Washington, we will ship the firearm to your preferred FFL. Just select them in the checkout process and you can pick up the firearm when it arrives.

I’m buying something in person from another individual. Can you help me facilitate the transfer?

Yes, we can help. Whether it’s a purchase or transfer between friends, or a private party seller, you’ll need to have us facilitate the transfer paperwork.

Have a look at the Seller to Buyer Transfer page, fill out the form in advance to save some time and paperwork, then pick out a time that works for you both using our appointment calendar.

I’m buying something from an individual or shop out of town. Can they ship it to ALX Arms so I can pick it up?

Yes, we can facilitate the transfer and we’ve made it pretty easy for everyone involved. Simply visit the Seller to Buyer Transfer page and fill out the form there. We’ll send our FFL information over to the seller, they’ll ship it to us, and when it’s ready we’ll let you know so you can come pick it up.

I’m interested in a suppressor or silencer, but I’m not sure how to go about getting one. Can ALX Arms help me?

We’re big fans of suppressors/silencers. There are many advantages to shooting suppressed including: reduction of sound and muzzle flash signature, reducing the concussion for the person next to you at the range, or having an additional caution to preserve your hearing.

You no longer have to pay the $200 tax stamp, and the ATF has been approving requests very quickly.

We stock a lot of common suppressor applications and can help you figure out the best barrel, mount, and adapter combination for your needs. We also carry the HUSH Holster for holstering just about any pistol & suppressor combination out there.

I saw something you’re selling on GunBroker or eBay or somewhere else. Can I just buy it directly through you?

Of course you can buy directly from us, but then GunBroker and eBay will not be able to charge us the 10-13% listing and processing fees, and we will no longer have to pass that cost onto the consumer (you), so you’ll have to pay less money for the firearm. If you are okay with all of that, please give us a call or text and we’ll get you taken care of.
